This is a reminder to you all to avail this great opportunity provided by Sun called the "Sun
Academic Initiative" which has been around for quite some time. This is great opportunity to get trained on Sun technologies and getting enroll into sun certification.
We had registered our college to use this service and obtained a company-name and company-id
which you can use to self-register yourselves to the Sun Learning
Connection site and begin enrolling yourself for all the free web-based
courses on Java, Solaris, etc.. !
What is the Sun Academic Initiative?
The Sun Academic Initiative is a program designed to create a collaborative relationship between Sun and academic institutions. Courses delivered through this program will introduce students to Sun Microsystems technologies, prepare them for industry-leading certification, and equip them with marketable IT job skills.
As part of this program, non profit institutions (not individuals) become authorized, enabling those institutions to deliver training on Sun technologies to their faculty, staff and students. In addition, faculty, staff and students can obtain free access to selected online courses through the Sun Learning Center.

Instructions for registering for the Sun Academic Initiative Learning Connection
1. Direct your browser to: _https://learningconnection.sun.com/_
Note: you must enable pop ups in your browser for this application.
2. Click on "Register"
3. Create your own Username and Password
4. On the "Company Name" enter your school's name EXACTLY as:
SAI-Japyee Institute of Information Technology University
5. On the "Company I.D." enter your school's company I.D. as:
CUS-0000111577
Note: Copy and paste is best for these two fields - THEY MUST BE EXACT!
Also, make sure you mark your choice for "Contact me by", "Product and Service Information" and "Citizenship". Also, make sure that all the "Required Fields" marked by red asterisks are filled out.
6. Click "Submit" at the bottom of the page and a NEWS (pop up) page will appear where you may select from the icons at the top of the page.
Congratulations and Welcome to the Sun Learning Connection!
When you select COURSES you will be presented with My Courses which lists all of the courses in the Sun Academic Initiative that are available to you at no cost. You may review them by Groups or use the Search function to locate a course.To enroll in a course, simply click on the name of the course and agree to the Click Through License Agreement and your module will begin.
If you are a first time user of an LMS you may want to download the Learner User Guide. When selecting the REFERENCE icon you may select the Learner User Guide which will download the PDF document to your system.
Discount certification coupons and other offers may also be viewed by selecting REFERENCE and then SAI Member Offers.
You can retake each module, course or practice exam as often as you like. Upon completion of a course you can download a certificate of completion available through the Sun Learning Connection tool.
Please note, there is a 365 day expiration on each course starting when you enroll in the course. If you exceed the 365 day expiration time, simply click on the "help" button and ask for an extension and it will be granted.
